A fabulously glamorous day was had by all at this years 65th British Academy Film Awards in London. Held at the iconic Royal Opera House, in Covent Garden, London, the red carpet arrivals, being the first glimpse of the stars of the years hit films, always draws in a huge audience, and yesterday was no exception, as Mr Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Colin Firth and Best Male Actor Jean Dujardin (from Best Film Winner 'The Artist) graced the carpet.
This year I looked after Mr Martin Scorsese's daughter Catherine, who's Father was presented with The BAFTA Fellowship Award, and was by his side all evening, went for a very sophisticated look with focus on eyes, and large full bodied hair.
Key makeup bag essential for the look I created: Nars Duo concealer in Custard/Ginger, Nars sheer Matt fluid Foundation in Fiji, Emani Pressed Blush in South Beach, MAC eye shadow in Patina & Vex, Bobbie Brown eye gel black, Japonesque lashes, Emani sheer lip gloss in Social Climber.
Today's gorgeous seasonal shoot for Spring Summer fashion trends...that I've been doing with Erin and the team from The Harlequin for the past 3 seasons... Laura The face of The Harlequin was her usual charming vivacious self, and lit up the room with her smile - ready for MAC's 'So Chaud' this season's key colour TANGERINE...
MAC 'SO CHAUD'
We had 5 changes to do from this seasons key tones of Tangerine, naval stripes, pastel, and floral print, from ZARA to TED BAKER! So tempted to have a little shopping spree!!!
Makeup and hair started out fresh with a girl next door feel, the only vibrant shade was MAC 's Lustreglass in 'Flashmode to Shop'...really sets off a clean flawless skin, great lashes, brows, nude cheeks...just a POP of pink!
From girl next door we moved the look up a notch or two to navy stripes, with the killer red through - moving on to some floral prints and a top we all wanted teamed with a hot coral shade jacket...a shopping list item 'must have'.
Hair got slightly bigger with a 'Stepford Wife' feel - big, bouncy and fun!
James Argent, or 'Arg' as he's known to the avid viewers of 'TOWIE' bared all with his partners in crime Tommy Smith, 19, Dan Fisher, 26, Tim Langer, 29, and Mark Wright's cousin Georgie Wright, 26 for the performance of the day to mark the launch of T-Mobile's new 'The Full Monty' price plan.
Well, if like me you loved the movie, then Arg's recreation of the hilarious scene will make you smile for sure! The guys had a great day, and what sports and true friends he has! Baring all with modesty 'in the hat' literally...!
In Becky's words... 'On the 20th January, I went along to Brixton with Claire to assist her for a photo shoot for the launch of T-Mobile's new tariff 'The Full Monty'. We did male make up for James 'Arg' Argent from the ITV2 show 'The Only Way is Essex' or 'TOWIE' and 4 of his friends to re-create The Full Monty. I did two of the boys whilst Claire made up Arg and the others. I used MAC's spf 35 concealer to conceal any blemishes or redness, as well as some lip balm for dry lips. A dusting of Emani pressed powder for any shine on camera and they were good to go. Whilst on set we did touch ups throughout the day and were also helping the boys with their ties and trousers (they were velcro'ed so had to be ripped off and put back on again!). All good experience for me and had a really good day!'
Thanks to Becky Sutton from my M.A.C.H team for assisting me - you were a marvel with the powder in all the right places, and thanks to Sam Holden photographer and colleague for the booking - great production!
Male grooming can sometimes be more of an art than usual makeup for women, as it really does have to 'not be seen' and hid any shaving spots/blemishes, and to be non mask like, so for James, I used: *Shu Uemura UV Under Base Mousse in Beige - I've been using this for 16 years on all my clients, its THE most amazing prep for any skin type, and for male grooming works a treat! They feel comfy too as its mousse, maybe reminds them of a shaving product! *MAC Studio Fix Concealer in NC 30 & NC 35 for areas that needed a flawless tone and shading. *Followed by The Green People Mineral Foundation Powder in 'Maple' & 'Honey' - sheer and provides a flawless makeup free feel to any skin type...blendable excellence in a compact!

Delightful couple Sara and Tim had the majestic Divinity Schools and Bodleian Library for a date in their diary just before Christmas, inviting their friends, family and other loved ones to celebrate their Wedding in true utter elegance and style. Sara's makeup and hair for the ceremony was in keeping with her Caroline Castigliano dress, elegant and fun... We made soft smokey eyes in MACRetrospeck, Tempting and Vex, framed the top of the lid with a liner using the seamless - Fluidline in Blitz & Glitz The impeccable attention to detail and whole planning was down to the gorgeous lady with the wand, Isobel Lamplough of Isobel Weddings, where yet again colour schemes, lighting and sheer opulence dazzled the guests as they entered the marquee, housed between the history of 2 of Oxfords most incredible buildings! The scene was framed by an ever flowing stream of delicate cream roses and much more by floral artist Emma Walker, which festooned every where the eye looked, Emma's distinctive creativity was admired by everyone, including myself (thank you again Emma for a few too, they graced the Christmas table for dinner sensationally!!) To capture all the beauty of the day, Susie and Harley of renowned Barker Evans Photography, made sure, as always that their eyes didn't miss a beat and encapsulated the feel, tone and delights of the day stunningly as always...as seen here above...the images speak for themselves! It was a pleasure to be involved with such a lovely couple's day...
Our Press Junket Room for the day at The Corinthia Hotel, London
Today I was with a press junket for the new movie 'The Woman In Black' and I had the pleasure of working with the charming Director James Watkins. The movie set in Yorkshire will premier in London tomorrow, and fans of Daniel Radcliffe will no doubt be lining the pavements of Leicester Square for a glimpse of the actor.
James had flawless skin and not wishing for a 'face of makeup' I applied the magic 'UV Under Base Mousse' in Beige by Shu Uemura, which is fabulous for evening out skin tone and texture, disguising redness, minimizes the appearance of pores and is just the best under base/primer I have ever used...totally perfect for everyone including male grooming! Guys love the look of their skin with this on... Then applied a small buff over the skin of Nars Duo Concealer in Vanilla/Honey - perfect for the paler toned skin, and set that very lightly with The Green People's Pressed Foundation Powder in Honey and the interviews began...
For the launch of her new book,'The Soldier's Wife'
Another delightful shoot with the ever so lovely Joanna Trollope. It was a pleasure to be asked again to work on the new publicity shots for what will be another fabulous book launch for ‘The Soldier’s Wife’ which is due to be released on the 2nd February published by Transworld.
I created Joanna’s natural look with a range of Organic Mineral Makeup by The Green People - for a flawless base try their pressed mineral foundation powder in 'Caramel' great for yellow undertones, and mature skin looks effortlessly immaculate, certainly not caked or heavy. Very easy to use with a kabuki brush in large circular movements.
The Green People - Suitable for sensitive skin and those prone to acne, eczema, psoriasis or rosacea - Free from the harsh synthetic chemicals found in many high street make-up brands such as Mercury, Phthalates, Parabens & Carcinogens. Also free from Bismuth Oxychloride and Carmine.
These beautiful images were taken by Society Photographers, the dynamic duo, Susie Barker and Harley Evans of Barker Evans Photography
Thanks to Katie from Transworld and thanks to Joanna for the perfect cup of tea and inspirational conversations...delightful!
One of my favorite ladies, the gorgeous actress CHLOE MORETZ, was in town for several days of press and TV for her new movie 'HUGO' with Director Martin Scorsese, before heading to Paris for more promo and Premiers, where she was in fine hands of M.A.C.H artist Melanie Meik who kindly stepped in for me, due to a short trip with Mr Richie in Dublin.
The evening was a windy one...and so Chloe and decided upon a chic yet messy Boho style side knot...worked well with the structure of her dress, except one gust too many separated the parting a little!! Mother nature...
The makeup was as always with Chloe, fresh and glowing, with little powder, main concentration of makeup on the eyes - this time using TERRE D'OC very kindly sent from the lovely Liz at Goddess PR...I used the fabulous eye Kohl in Black along Chloe's bottom lashes, working it into the lower inner eye for a dramatic look, drawing attention to the eyes, yet soft on the lid in NACRE MEKNES 404 and a hint of warmth in the cheeksFard Á Joues Blush 821 CorailGoto and the mineral foundation Beige Tendre Atlas 901 as a dusting, followed by Lip Gloss SUBLIME in NUDE 304...adds just enough to finish off a cool, sophisticated look.
